Almost Last Weekend

The countdown is really on now. This is my second to last weekend here. Technically speaking, I needed to get everything done this weekend as next weekend is all about seeing friends for the last time! So, I really wanted to make this one productive. Spent ALL day on Saturday making sure that most of my cds were in fact copied to my itunes folder. Can’t get to Georgetown without having choices! And of course I need to back up my phone, back up my pc, and finish uploading the Christmas vacation pictures to facebook. Soon and very soon I will be linking these two accounts – and hopefully keeping in better touch with friends and family!

The great part of the weekend was finding the time to catch up with some friends too. Lunch on Saturday turned into lunch on Sunday which by the time we got to the house... turned into dinner. But everyone jumped in to help and lots of curry chicken, etc was under way soon. I meant the “royal” everyone as I was a guest and watched. J Well, I offered, but I was allowed to sit this one out. The dog warmed my cold toes whilst we enjoyed chips and caught up on life in general. Everyone wanted to know about my CUSO journey, and I filled in as much detail as I already know, and then we ate. Dinner was scrumptious and I ate waaaay too much. And naturally, I topped that off with the best dessert in the world – a warm brownie and cookies and cream ice cream!!!!  Mmmm hmmmm good!

Oh oh oh. Did I forgot to mention that I just love DT! Gave me a supply of movies I could take with me... I’ll be fully entertained when I’m not off sightseeing.... Yay. Go DT!! J

Almost ready to go...

Today I realized that I have two weeks left in Canada. Yes, TWO WEEKS. Yikes. Somehow the countdown was on, but no one told me. I knew the time was coming, but had no idea it was so close!!! So, now, I gotta REALLY make sure I'm ready.

Well, suitcases packed. Check

No, scratch that. check. Suitcases are full, but not really "packed". I just threw some things in there so that I would have the things I was taking with me separate from the ones that had to be stored away
for the year. Nevertheless, it appears I can't take a message! But, let's just say I'm a good Brownie and trying to be prepared for anything... mosquitoes, the heat, and... monkeys????

I'm going to try to use every spare minute of the next two weeks. There's much to do, places to go, and of course my loveRly friends to see!!!

THE BEGINNING...

Do I know what I'm doing? Sometimes. Is this gonna work? Who knows. But it is my first attempt to set up a blog and document my ... life? Well, I'm going to try to do this for at least one year, and then we'll see how that goes.

I've tried to keep in touch with friends - old and new. I think many of you will agree that I've tried... But hopefully this will allow me to do so in a more consistent fashion, and will certainly be more exciting than 2 pages of email. What do you think? First post will go back in time - but not too far and share my last vacation. Yay! Truthfully? Even though that was less than a month ago, I feel like it's time for another. Stay tuned, but for now...
